To Lose Yourself and Find Yourself…In One Moment

There is such a thing called, transcendent awareness. The definition of transcendent is beyond or above the range of normal or merely physical human experience. Awareness is, of course, knowledge or perception of a situation or fact. So how can someone be aware, and at the same time, transcend?

There are many forms of this consciousness or awareness. Some people have had those “aha” moments when they discover who they are or their purpose. It could occur in a simple form of taking a walk alone in nature and just remaining quiet and allowing yourself to listen to your true-self, or as I like to say, hearing God or the Universe speak to me.

This idea may come across as being “deep” or “out there,” but the truth of the matter is, we all ask ourselves at one point in our lives, “what am I doing here?”, “what is my purpose?”. It’s hard to figure it out when we’re so busy in our lives. Getting up in the morning and trying to eat breakfast, getting ready for work, driving in crazy traffic. Our minds get cluttered with day-to-day living. It’s during these times when we’re at our wits end when we ask those questions.

For me, the only way to “find myself” is to “lose myself” in meditation, or to be present in the moment. Quieting my mind and allowing that inner voice to come through to keep me calm, relaxed, and at peace. To know that everything is as it should be…I am exactly where I need to be.

If you’re struggling with day-to-day duties, and feel as though you need to make a change or understand what exactly it is you’re supposed to be doing in your life, then first, don’t be so hard on yourself, because we all go through that emotion. Second, take the time, even if it’s just five minutes, and quiet your mind. Stop all the internal and external chatter and allow yourself to listen to your true-self. That inner voice or gut feeling that will give you that “aha” moment…and then take action to make a change.

If you practice this enough each day, you’ll soon discover a kind of wisdom within you. You will be in a more state-of-peace to communicate wisdom to others. You will lose the idea of what you believed others thought how you should be or act. These “ideas” have been manufactured upon us since childhood.

Be who you are! Take time to meditate or be with yourself in nature…and listen. Discover that you can lose yourself and find yourself in the same moment.

And so it is…
